The “Barco Evora” is a very lively ship and full of stories and curiosities like the fact that it was built in Germany with recycled plates from the tanks of World War I, because it was the first ship in the world with a stainless steel propeller and because it was a floating wine cellar with thousands of liters of purple muscatel that are stewing in kites!
Built in 1931,”Barco Evora” was purchased by CP in the same year to operate on the Tagus River, to ensure the crossing of Lisbon to the south bank.”Barco Evora“ was the first diesel ship in Lisbon and Portugal and in its time was the fastest and most comfortable ship, replacing the steamships.
For decades he made the crossing of Lisbon to Barreiro and many still remember with longing for this beautiful ship of romantic architecture.
In the year 2014, ”Barco Evora” was totally refurbished and redecorated for its new life linked to tourism, business events, boat trips, wine tastings in Lisbon and the Sado river between the beautiful bay of Setúbal and the peninsula of Tróia.
In May 2017, it was acquired by Seaventy who invested in new breeding works that made it the ship you see today and feel!
It is divided into 3 decks: a basement that serves as a wine cellar, intermediate deck with bar and multipurpose space that can serve as a restaurant, meeting space or exhibitions, and the exterior deck comprising bar and large multipurpose terrace.
